2012 Thoughts on Trading in Birth Certificates

A few years ago, some of the global implications of my 2009 entry "Trading in Birth Certificates - Double Entendre" became clearer in a new way. Since I live in Australia, a country that had a "White Only" immigration policy through the 1960's, I wondered why, now that I live here, things had changed so radically and the government seemed to be in a special rush to bring in Asians and, more recently those from Sub-Sahara Africa. When I thought about it, there had to be some big financial pay-off for officialdom. At first, I thought maybe they were just being literally paid off by the British government to relocate those left stranded in various ways by the crumbling empire. Then, when I realized that all Western governments had gone bankrupt around 1933, and they were likely begging for large loans to stay afloat from the World Bank or International Monetary Fund, initially, for collateral, they simply used the Birth Bonds of their own citizens. Then slowly, as they saw the limitations of that pool of people, they realized that by allowing immigration from Third World nations, the citizens of whom were not yet registered anywhere, they had a fresh source of funding. Thus, First World applicants for immigration were much less welcome, because their bonds had already been used by their native countries. Although the Australian government has a supposedly strong anti-illegal immigration stance, regarding those who are smuggled into the country by boat, it actuality has a large yearly migrant intake of about 200,000 - 300,000 people, currently mainly from China. Again, their policies disciminate against the mature-age migrants, while being much more welcoming to the youth. This dovetails in almost every "First World" country with the puzzling intake of huge numbers of migrants while those countries are struggling with high unemployment as well. Note that I have no proof of the above, but see if you don't have an 'Ah-ha' experience while reading this.

Ten Years Post 9/11

It is becoming clearer all the time, that the death of John F. Kennedy, the assassination, now proven in a U.S. court, by the U.S. government of Martin Luther King, and the 9/11 coup d'etat are likely all interrelated. Because even now, with Jackie Kennedy's audio tapes being unsealed, the MSM will not mention that she thought Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson was behind her husband's assassination. Of course, the C.I.A.'s fingerprints are all over these things, along with Bush senior's, and Dick Cheney's and all the usual suspects. There have been several things that have surprised me about this over the years. One is that with all the hundreds of universities and colleges in the United States, why no political science professor stepped forward to start a movement towards truth. All hid behind their academic gowns and either were too stupid to see the truth, or too afraid to lose their jobs. The only prominent academic to come forward in the past ten years has been Prof. Stephen Jones, who did lose his job at Brigham Young University by coming forward, but he is a physicist, not a social scientist. Another thing that has surprised me is how much, the two political parties of the United States are basically one party, or one body, with two heads. They pretend to be different in outlook to get elected, but when they gain power they just continue the awful policies that have come before. The American voting system is a total, manipulated sham. We were all amazed at how calm, cool and collected Obama was before he was elected. I am now convinced he was that way because he had been told that he only had to go through the motions, as the election was fixed in his favor. As Wayne Madsen says, he has likely been an C.I.A. tool since birth, because his mother and grandparents all worked as undercover agents for that body, and it is likely that Obama was groomed for the job he now holds.With all the signs that America is becoming a fascist, police state, everyone is behaving like it ain't happening. It is like some slow-motion reverse of the kind of censorship and repression that has always existed in China. We were a free country, losing our freedoms, China was a chained country now gaining some freedom, the freedom to make money in creative ways. That this is happening in this way, I believe, is intentional. It is to level the playing field for the whole world. Bring the West down to its knees, and bring the East up. That way the elite can carry forth their world government plan with their agenda--not likely to be a pretty one.

Trading in Birth Certificates - 2011 Update

I am still surprised that I am receiving e-mails regarding a topic I blogged about in 2009, when in March of that year I discovered that my birth certificate was part of a Fidelity Fund at that time. I described to everyone how to discover their own birth certificate fund numbers on the Fidelity.com website. But I just tried to find it again today and it no longer works. They have obviously hidden the accounts, and most likely they were never publically trading anyway.
I know people are desperate to get their finances in order and shine the light of day on all these nasty hidden governmental transactions, but the only way forward that I can see now is to support people like Julian Assange, and Bradley Manning in their fight to have more governmental transparency. In case you haven't noticed America is no longer a democracy, and we have an awful fight on our hands to restore some semblance of democracy in the States. Almost certainly the powers that be wish to destroy America in order to bring about world government. It is in our hands now to defend what few rights we have left. Pay attention.

My post, made a year ago, concerning our governments trading in birth certificates has had a wide readership resulting in my still getting e-mails to this day asking me how to nullify one's birth certificate registration, in order to recoup the funds owed one. I have not attempted to do this at all, as it would be so time consuming to figure out all the legalities required, and may result in some unpleasant experiences along the way. But if some of you have more time and chutzpah than I do, please go right ahead.

When I was a high school junior at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, I started a United Nation’s Club. I vaguely remember that Carl Bernstein joined my club, before he graduated to become a cub reporter at the Washington Post. As a result of my love for the UN, I subsequently became the national student chairman of the United World Federalists, a group led by Norman Cousins that wanted a world government based on the U.N. charter. The United World Federalists aspired to put some teeth into the structure of the United Nations, so that it could eventually replace nation state armies with its own superior forces. This we hoped would prevent world war III.

That was almost 50 years ago, and I have since learned a few things about this planet. I now believe that in my youth I was a pawn for the American version of the English Fabian Socialist movement. The Fabians helped create the Council on Foreign Relations in 1921, the United Nations in 1945, and other New World Order groups that aim for a world government based upon communist principles, with a softer, gradualist, non-violent approach. Their ideal is to promote the greatest good for the greatest number of people, in opposition to principles of individuality and freedom,

Led by the Rockefeller family, who donated the block of land upon which the U.N. complex now sits, they have an elitist agenda. You can see signs of that agenda everywhere these days—control of the masses through distraction from the real issues of the day, through entertainment, gossip and yellow journalism; the creation of faux political fights where nothing ever changes, or it’s one step forward, two steps backward. They want to control all financial transactions, our food supply, our medicine and drugs, and our travel. They are orchestrating the world financial crisis in order to centralize control of all currencies. They are coordinating the control of our food through multi-national agrochemical corporations that have gobbled up seed companies all over the world, ensuring that farmers can no longer save seed for subsequent years. They are redistributing various ethnic and racial groups to various parts of the world, calling it “a melting pot,” or “multiculturalism.” Such mixing of races and cultures tends to reach a point that rarely engenders harmony, but instead keeps various nationalities and races fighting for the same jobs, and the same real estate. This tends to foment old hatreds in new locations.

I had sincerely hoped that Obama was not part of this scenario, but with each passing day, I am disappointed. He has made no moves to clean the Faustian Augean stables of all the real damage the past eight years have done to American and world society. There has been no repeal of the Patriot Act. No arrests of the many criminals who profited and lied to us. No connecting of the dots concerning World Trade Center Building No. 7 that fell into its own footprint at 5:25 pm on September 11th, 2001, conveniently incinerating the Security and Exchange Commission’s financial records of Enron and its rip-off of Californians during the energy crisis. Even today with all the evidence of the many lies of the last administration, no MSM or fast-rising blogger has teased apart the official theory of what happened on that day.

Well, if you like homogenized milk, then welcome to an homogenized world.

Am I really helping to starve Africans?

I feel really bad. I've just seen the documentary "Can GM save the world?" shown on SBS TV recently. As a critic of genetically modified (GM) foods, I was left wondering if I'm morally a bad person for contributing to the starvation of millions in Africa by opposing GM crops - at least that's what this documentary would have you believe.

But am I morally bankrupt for advocating clean, green food production systems rather than corporate controlled biotech seeds, pesticides and other industrial agrichemicals? If so, then that makes me, along with many scientists, environmental groups and most consumers, complicitous in a massive Mao-like genocide.

Maybe it's not me. Perhaps the documentary wanted me to think that. If you thought that the documentary sounded like a paid advertisement for the biotechnology industry, then you'd be forgiven for thinking so. The biotech industry has long recognised that their aggressive, and some say arrogant, style has sullied the impact that any direct advertising could possibly have. Far better to work with TV and radio researchers to promote your message using celebrities and the noble scientist as a proxy - preferably both at the same time. And the documentary's host, Jimmy Doherty is the perfect foil. His boffin appeal and pin-up boy good looks plays straight out of the Jamie Oliver school of geezer charm. Surround him with a slew of pro-GM scientists and create an air of impartiality by offering Jimmy as a self-styled poster child for sustainable farming and you've got a winning formula. A stroke of directorial genius I would have thought.

But charm offensive aside, the documentary's main conclusions were clear: GM was "so simple", "so natural" that it would be morally corrupt to be critical of a technology that "was amazing" and "offered hope" to millions in the developing world. Sure, there were nominal offerings by two GM critics, but quite apart from the fact that each had less than a minute of air time, they were both book-ended by rebuttals from GM scientists, ensuring that they served as little more than a linking device for the main pro-GM thrust.

The "GM will feed the world" myth is a deviously clever piece of PR. The need has arisen because GM food has not enjoyed the worldwide acceptance that their biotech inventors had hoped for. On the contrary, GM crops have engendered massive consumer resistance with environmental and consumer groups rallying together to create a powerful global "no GMO" voice. Reeling from this unexpected rejection and devoid of any saleable consumer benefits, the biotech industry needed a distraction. Their target was the emotional heart-strings of western consumers. And the vehicle? The hungry in the third world. Without their consent, the plight of the third world has been thrust into the service of biotech operatives.

The myth is powerful because who wants to be seen as opposing a technology that will feed hungry mouths? But can it? Before we slavishly succumb to its emotional pull, does the assertion stand up to scrutiny?

The framing of the "can GM feed the world?" question assumes a priori that there isn't enough food already being produced. This is demonstrably false. Critics point to a 2006 UN FAO report that acknowledges that world agriculture today produces 17 per cent more calories per person than it did 30 years ago despite a 70 per cent population increase, yet the gap between the fed and the underfed is greater than ever.

We now have the perverse situation where there are more obese people in the west than there are malnourished in the third-world. The real reason people go hungry is because they don't have the money to buy food, the arable land to grow it or because of war and conflict. The distorted global food trading system that favours large agribusiness interests at the expense of the subsistence farmer also plays its part.

Asking if GM can feed the world suggests that GM is the only solution. Omitted from consideration are truly environmentally, economically and culturally sustainable food production systems such as organics and biodynamics that place people and soils at the centre of their food security. New genetically modified magic beans that are subject to intellectual property rights are clearly not a solution donated to the world community for their attendant use.

To feed the hungry, GM crops need to be accessible to those who need them, yet 95 per cent of all GM crops are grown in just four countries: The US, Argentina, Canada and Brazil most of which are fed to animals, ostensibly to fatten up livestock for fast-food hamburgers and for use in other highly processed foods - no third world lives saved there.

But maybe GM crops have something special that will increase yields? With only two commercial GM traits available; one being herbicide resistance, the other that allows the plant to create it's own insect toxin, the current suite of GM crops are more about ensuring continued sales of pesticides more than feeding the hungry. There is simply no such thing as a commercially available GM crop to increase yield or exhibit drought tolerance. Such falsehoods are the flights of PR fancy but are required to sustain the "feed the world" myth.

As a society, we need to ask: Who is telling us that GM can solve world hunger? Not surprisingly, it's those who stand to benefit financially.

But surely we don't believe that Monsanto, the company that gave the world PCBs, Agent Orange, dioxins and GM crops, is now a benevolent philanthropist out to save needy people? If GM crops were truly about feeding the hungry, then why does Monsanto so aggressively assert their intellectual property rights by suing farmers for the simple act of saving seeds from their crops? Third world farmers simply cannot afford this legal risk, much less the royalty fees, expensive seeds and chemicals that GM agriculture mandates.

In response, we are starting to see a seismic change in people's attitudes when it comes to food. People are connecting the dots between a genetically modified, industrialised, global farming model and the impact to human health, the environment and global food security. Truly sustainable farming systems that nurture people, their soils and communities through a harmonic resonance with natural systems are experiencing a renaissance across the world as witnessed by the phenomenal growth of the organics sector and the proliferation of farmers markets in every city, town and village across the globe.

Most importantly the renaissance is helping to feed people where it's needed most - in the third world. In stark contrast, the only thing that GM crops are feeding is corporate profits.

Letter to Sydney Morning Herald On GM "Science"

Some readers, like Mr. Colin Jeffrey, think that genetically manipulated food is the product of good science and nothing to be afraid of. Well, thalidomide, DDT, and releasing the cane toad in Australia were all considered to be good science in their day. Just because someone wears a white coat and works in a clean, shiny laboratory does not make them a good scientist.

We know enough now about how unlabeled GM was inserted into our diets to be a bit skeptical of governmental reassurances. Politicians are always seeking funding for reelection, and thus they make sure that GM is given a green light with lax safety regulation. The safety testing involved lasts about three weeks to three months on lab rats, and if the rats don't die, then we get to eat the stuff. To hurry the "patented food" to market, there is no multi-generational tests done, and no inspection of the effects on reproduction.. All testing is done in corporate labs, with governmental labs simply rubber stamping the results.

America has Only One Political Party

I think very few of your realize that we only have one political party in the United States. The only governing party we have puts on a charade every four years of having a real election, with candidates vying for who can be as different from the previous bums as possible.

The one party we have is like a person with a right hand and a left hand. Bush represented the right hand and Obama represents the left hand, but the brain still belongs to some secret combination of the owners of the Federal Reserve Bank, the C.I.A. and the Council on Foreign Relations. Although I really like Obama as a person, he appears more and more to be just a puppet of the powers that be, who want to keep the status quo.

Why is Fluoride in our Drinking Water?

So often, we blame the drug companies for the high cost of drugs, and usually rightfully so. But in this case, the fault clearly lies with the pharmacies themselves. For example, if you had to buy a prescription drug, and bought the name brand, you might pay $100 for 100 pills. The pharmacist might tell you that if you get the generic equivalent, they would only cost $80, making you think you are "saving" $20. What the pharmacist is not telling you is that those 100 generic pills may have only cost him $10! At the end of the report, one of the anchors asked Mr. Wilson whether or not there were any pharmacies that did not adhere to this practice, and he said that Costco, Sam's Club and other discount volume stores consistently charged little over their cost for the generic drugs. I would like to mention, that although these are a "membership" type store, you do NOT have to be a member to buy prescriptions there, as it is a federally regulated substance. You just tell them at the door that you wish to use the pharmacy, and they will let you in.

My New York Times Comments on an Article by Pico Iyer

In response to Mr. Pico Iyer's article called "The Joy of Less"

(My comments follow)

As an American who has lived in several parts of the world, including Kyoto for a year, I couldn’t wait to learn to speak Japanese, and did so within six months of arriving there in 1966. I believe Mr. Iyer has chosen not to learn the language in order to maintain his sense of serenity. Learning a foreign language and also living in that country almost automatically mires one in its institutionalized problems. My observations now of Japan, having lived there a total of eight years, is that the modern culture is very frenetic, but is kept in a precarious balance of sanity, due to its traditional values and Zen-like qualities built into the language itself.

Having lived in Kyoto in the 60s however, I can hardly see any beauty in Kyoto these days, with its modern tall buildings obliterating the sky that used to be dominated by temples. Also, the levels of electromagnetic smog in the whole of Japan are beyond anything I can tolerate.

No, I currently reside in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney, Australia, where I write books, occasionally watch a DVD, cuddle my rabbit, and grow organic vegetables. I do worry about the state of America and the world though, as I don’t feel at all isolated from what looks like a growing worldwide political consolidation, when I would much prefer a return to an era like that of the ancient Greek city states.

NPR Allows Monsanto Greenwashing to Air

I cannot believe that a company like Monsanto is allowed to exist in this
world, let alone be supported by a public broadcasting station. Monsanto
is as evil as the tobacco industry was in covering up the harm that
tobacco has done to the world's citizenry. I personally will tell my
friends to stop sending in money to NPR if you continue to allow Monsanto
to be spewing its lies on the airwaves.

I am outraged by the 12 second ad that Monsanto has been running that
says, "Marketplace [an NPR program] is supported by Monsanto, committed to sustainable
agriculture, creating hybrid and biotech seeds designed to increase crop

The only agricultural practice proven to sustainably increase crop yields
while improving the soil's water-holding capacity is organic.

Genetic Engineering Swine Flu

It is very likely that some mad scientists in America, or in another Western country, reversed engineered this current swine flu from the 1918 flu virus which they have resurrected from a body found in the arctic tundra. WHO is part of a Rockefeller-funded scheme to eliminate most of the people on this planet, and this is the first volley (or maybe the second volley, since bird flu may have been their first attempt} in their aim to kill most of us. Twin Towers Came Down Because They Needed to be Demolished

Dr. Steven Jones et al have published a peer-reviewed paper on the nano thermite discovered in the dust from the Twin Towers in NYC. Dr. Jones is a former professor of physics at Brigham Young University who was forced out from his position there by the fearful administrators of that school. Dr. Jones has tirelessly tried to get the real story out about the way the towers were brought down by explosives. Here with his associates he puts more nails in the coffin of the official theory:

Building 7 was also imploded since it housed the financial records of thousands of investigative case files involving fraud, extortion, racketeering, money-laundering, etc. between the big banks, Wall Street and Washington, DC. The financial meltdown we're now seeing is part of what 9/11 was to cover up. Also, 50+ Accountants and Auditors were killed at the Pentagon who were investigating $2.3 trillion in missing Pentagon money… what a coincidence. I only found out a few months ago that the governments of the Commonwealth nations and the U.S., use our whole life's labor, individually valued at many millions of dollars, as collateral (earning interest!) against their national debt. It is a system that has been in place for at least 70 + years, since the Great Depression, when the U.S., and presumably other Western countries, became debtor nations. And it starts with your birth certificate.

There was a trust created in your name when you were registered as a baby, and there is an actual bond tracking number on your birth certificate. I looked up my own birth certificate and found the bond for it at fidelity.com. Commonwealth nation citizens, as well as U.S. citizens, can find their birth certificate bond on this same website.This bond can be used for the purposes of setting-off debt, and actually aids your country in reducing the national debt. This method has been successfully used by quite a few people who know about it, and obviously does not have mainstream coverage as it has been hidden for a long time.

I fell in love with Hawaii while I was there, and got a taste of its special culture. During the presidential campaign, I kept thinking how the media was missing the aloha spirit that shaped Obama from birth, and continues to shape him to this day.

Regarding the naturalness of inserting genes into a plant, the corporations use a gene gun that blasts a "gene cassette" into the plant. The gene cassette usually consists of four genes, a promoter gene, the transgene, which actually contains the targetted effect, an anti-biotic marker gene, and a gene to stop the process. What the targetted plant does with these new genes is relatively unknown. If the transgene works as promised, then the company typically does a three-week test on lab rats, to see if they don't die, and if they survive, the new plant in put on the market. The FDA's protocol is simply to trust the company's internal study on the new plant. In terms of the company's bottom-line profits, considering that these plants have a patented expiry date, the quicker they can be sold, the more the company can make from their patent. Thus they are using the public as guinea pigs.

I was telling my progressive friends for more than six months that the election was fixed in Obama's favor, and I wanted him to win too. Phyllis you have hit upon some of the major clues that the election was fixed for Obama. Added to the above is the fact that the corporate owned media were behind him for many months, which is another red flag that he is unlikely to hurt their bottom line. Then add into that mix all the major politicos that supported him as well. I think the powers that be couldn't stomach civil unrest, just yet, and decided to go with a popular guy whose life was, and is, continuously on the line.

And add to the above what Bill Clinton's favorite professor at Georgetown had to say about elections, and I quote:

I have spent the past six months examining the genetically engineered food issue world-wide. I have also just seen on this website that Sen. Obama requested $2.5 million from Congress to help the Illinois GE food industry, and I am aware that a former Monsanto scientist is slated to be one of his top advisers in his administration.

I am very concerned that traditional plant breeding is being excluded from the future of food because of the huge grants Monsanto et al have given to research departments at major universities around the world. They have literally cornered the market in future food research, thus building into the system an extreme bias in favor of GE foods that is reprehensible. It may not be bad to do such research for far future needs, but the industry and the media are literally forcing such questionable foodstuff down our throats now, way before their real impact on the environment, or our health has been ascertained. The FDA has given the green light to the agricorps to self-assess the dangers of these new foods, and regulatory agencies around the world just mimic the lax behavior of the FDA by giving almost all GE foods a pass with no independent testing. Meanwhile, allergy rates are soaring in children worldwide, and the pharmaceutical industry will reap the benefits, as the world's population loses its collective immunity to all sorts of pathogens that could have been avoided if we had more carefully examined the safety of such "food."
I STRONGLY URGE BARACK TO BECOME MORE AWARE OF THE IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR OF THE AGRI-CORPORATIONS. It is totally beyond belief to see your paper's continual cover-up of 9/11, and its defense of the ridiculous assertion that 19 Arabs with box cutters committed that extremely complex attack on America in 2001, when even the F.B.I. doesn't claim that Bin Laden did it. The very fact that Marvin Bush, the President's brother, was responsible for the security of the World Trade Center complex before 9/11 and had bomb-sniffing dogs taken off duty for several weeks leading up to the attacks is enough proof for me of a false flag event. The media complicity in this cover-up in America, England and Australia is hideous, and seems similar to Germany in the '30s after the Reichstag fire.

In her guest column in this space on July 14, Paula Mathewson of CropLife put forward the genetically modified crop industry's view of GM food. Unfortunately, she left out some critical facts.

First, most GM foods come from GM crops. To make these crops, genetic engineers insert bits of DNA from animals, plants, bacteria and/or viruses into the food plants that we eat. While the GM crop industry boasts about how accurate the process is, the reality is rather different.

A classic insertion method is to actually fire the DNA into the plant using a modified shotgun. As the inserts land randomly, they can interfere with the plant's normal genetic functioning, and may cause a previously unknown substance to be made.

To date, almost all GM plants have been designed to make a new protein that makes the plant able to survive herbicide spraying or to make its own insecticide (which we then eat), and not to benefit consumers.

Like the GM industry, Paula likes how our food regulator regulates GM food. What she hasn't told you is that the regulator does not do any safety experiments of its own, but only does a paper-based safety assessment, based largely on what the GM crop company decides to tell it. It also does not require any animal or human studies to be done at all before it approves a GM crop as safe.

If any animal studies are actually done, they are almost always done by the GM company that wants to profit from the crop and not by independent researchers.

This is like accepting the safety statements made by tobacco companies without requiring independent studies.

Furthermore, these animal studies generally just involve feeding only the new protein that the plant is designed to make as a single oral dose and measuring how many animals die within seven to 14 days.

There are serious problems with this method.

First, the actual protein tested does not come from the GM plant that we eat but from a GM bacterium that we don't eat. Our regulator simply assumes that the protein is the same when it may not be.

Also, it assumes that the plant will only make that substance and nothing else. It also assumes that any animal that is not actually dead must be healthy and will stay that way, when it may in fact be seriously ill.

If feeding studies of actual GM plant material are done, they are usually completed within only four weeks and animal production measures such as meat production are usually measured rather than matters relevant to human health, for example organ health. Allergy is only assessed using a paper-based method, not by animal studies. Proteins with similarity to known allergic substances have been passed as safe. Reproductive effects are not measured. Study periods are not long enough to allow cancers to develop. Now consider that we will be eating these crops for generations.

Is there evidence of harm from eating GM crops? Yes, mostly from independent researchers using animal models. Effects have been found on the liver, kidney, pancreas, testes, digestive system, respiratory system, immune function (including allergy) and reproduction.

Are any of these occurring in people? We simply don't know.

There have been no studies into whether any of the millions of people who have been hospitalised or died since GM crops were introduced got ill due to eating these crops.

Our food regulator has allowed 55 different GM crop varieties into the Australian food supply, mostly corn, soy, canola and cotton. They are likely to be present in much of our daily diet, including fried and baked goods, such as soy in bread and processed food, cottonseed oil in chips and canola in margarine. Refined products like oil are exempt from labelling, as are meat, milk, cheese and eggs from animals that have eaten GM feed.

Why? Because our food regulator believes that they do not contain any DNA or protein from the GM crop. Scientific studies show otherwise. Meals from restaurants and take-aways do not require labelling. Moreover, the labelling laws are not policed.

Finally, Paula uses one survey to "show" that people have no concerns about eating GM foods.

Unfortunately, she didn't mention all the surveys by bodies such as Swinburne University, Roy Morgan Research and Biotechnology Australia that show the opposite.

Polling also shows that 92 per cent of Australians want all GM food labelled.

Of course, the GM crop industry doesn't want this and continues to vigorously oppose it. Labelling allows for consumer choice, traceability, easier investigations into the effects of GM crops on human health and easier legal action.

Just because GM crops look like normal crops, doesn't mean they are. Cocaine looks like flour, so does that mean cocaine is identical to flour, and also good to eat?
I agree with Bob Phelp's letter one hundred percent. Let's make each and every politician take a stand on the GM issue, and when they tell us they love GM food, then make them eat it by the barrel full, and remove them from representing us, because they don't. Paula Matthewson's article about the safety of genetically modified foods (''Look at the facts and draw your own conclusions in the debate over GM foods'', Times2, July 14, p6-7), states the foods are safe, and we should take her word for it.

This reminds me of the tactics of the George W. Bush Administration in the United States, that simply repeated ''weapons of mass destruction'' until Americans caved.

Saying the foods are safe, doesn't make it so. Matthewson is paid by Monsanto and Bayer, so she is defending her job. The surveyed public didn't mention GM at the top of their food safety concerns because media bury the issue at the behest of corporate interests.

Yea! There is some good news today on the GM front. Take a look at this article in today's Sydney Morning Herald:

More than 50 of the country's top chefs have united to protest against the introduction of genetically modified (GM) food crops to Australia.

Last month, GM canola crops were planted for the first time in NSW and Victoria after the two states announced they would let their bans on genetically engineered food crops expire.

In response, local celebrity chefs including Neil Perry and Kylie Kwong have signed on to the GM Free Chefs' Charter, launched in collaboration with Greenpeace in Sydney.

The charter, unveiled at chef Jared Ingersoll's Danks Street Depot restaurant in the inner-city Sydney suburb of Waterloo, calls for the NSW and Victorian governments to reverse their position on growing GM canola and demands thorough labelling of all food products that contain GM ingredients. FARMERS who embrace genetically modified crops will become slaves to biotechnology companies, the vice-president of Canada's National Farmers Union has warned Australia's agricultural sector.

Terry Boehm, a canola grower who is on a four-state speaking tour, said the introduction of genetically modified canola in his homeland more than a decade ago had impoverished farmers and led to an exodus from the land. Biotechnology companies charged farmers a very high price, he said, and switching to GM had cost Canada its European market.

Bans on growing modified canola in NSW and Victoria will end in a month, making the planting of such crops possible for the first time in Australia.

Mr Boehm said it had been impossible in Canada to segregate modified and conventional canola. The conventional canola was deemed GM because of cross-contamination.

Tomorrow, Saturday, 2nd February there will be a free conference open to all who want to learn what the genetic manipulation of food really means. The conference will begin at 2 pm and end at 5 pm. It will be held at the Katoomba Youth Hostel on Katoomba Street. I will be in attendance.

Also on Monday, the 4th, Greenpeace is holding a press conference at the NSW Parliament House with the president of the Canadian Farmer's Association speaking about the GM experience in Canada. It will start at 11:30 am.

In my research reading last night I discovered that the Food & Drug Administration of the U.S. (FDA) does not require any company to even report the genetic modification of any food to its office, let alone require any testing by the FDA for such a major change to our diets!

All canola-growing states imposed bans on commercial herbicide tolerant GM canola in 2003. Now the Victorian and NSW governments say their bans will be allowed to lapse on February 29 and March 3 2008, respectively.

Premier Brumby will let Bayer, Monsanto and their agribusiness allies roll out herbicide tolerant GM canola in Victoria without restriction or public notice. In contrast, NSW has extended its ban till July 2011 but will exempt some GM canola growing for commercial and research purposes, on a case-by-case basis. An expert panel will advise the Agriculture Minister. Not good enough, but better than Victoria's free-for-all, without any notice to GM-free growers and beekeepers who need to steer clear of GM sites.

he majority of citizens - farmers, food processors and shoppers - want the bans extended and to stay GM-free! Several state governments also want to remain GM-free but GM canola pollen and seed will cross state borders.

The new ALP federal government should facilitate a negotiation through the Gene Technology Ministerial Council. The national uniform system of GM assessment, regulation and marketing should be kept intact.

Nowhere in Andrew Bolt’s article praising the Australian planting of genetically modified food is there any mention of the company that likely provided him with gossip about Jeffrey Smith’s practice of Transcendental Meditation. Well, that company is Bayer CropScience, a subsidiary of the German pharmaceutical giant that sponsored the human guinea pig experiments of Nazi torturer Dr. Josef Mengele in the camps. Bayer is pushing for genetically modified planting in this country. So now, Mr. Bolt wants us to be guinea pigs for their latest experiments.

When all the famous Australian scientists that the various state governments consulted say that these crops are safe for human consumption, they are lying, because the life span of these new organisms is less than the lifespan of your cat or dog.

And as far as Mr. Smith’s connection to religion is concerned, it is Bayer CropScience who claimed that the genetic contamination of over 30 percent of America’s rice crop in 2006 with Bayer seed was “an Act of God,” and they had no idea how their seed escaped from experimental fields five years earlier. Yes, the Godless will cynically use God as a last defense against major lawsuits.

Dear Prime Minister:

Congratulations on Saturday's win!! Now we need your assistance.

Please urgently raise the following matters with Premiers Iemma and Brumby, and their Agriculture Ministers MacDonald and Helper as the decisions appear imminent. The NSW and Victorian governments seem set to make unilateral decisions that would allow their bans on GM canola to expire from February 29 2008. These decisions do not need to be made or announced immediately.

The new federal ALP government should work for a national consensus on GM canola and how to manage the market, environment and health impacts. The national forum for deciding these questions is the Gene Technology Ministerial Council (GTMC), where all responsible Ministers develop national GM policy. It is therefore the appropriate forum for reaching a nationally consistent consensus on extending or ending the state bans on GM crops.

When the Gene Technology Act was reviewed last year, both the NSW and Victorian governments supported a uniform decision process. They should now implement that position and no governments should go it alone.

All jurisdictions should extend their GM canola bans, unless there is a national consensus to lift them.

Decisions to end the bans would be national, permanent and irreversible. The pollen and seed of canola will cross state borders and our environment contains many weeds - wild radish, turnip and charlock - that would take up the herbicide tolerance genes. As Minister Llewelyn can attest, Tasmania is still attempting expensive GM canola decontamination years after the event, with little success.

The food and farming industries and the community generally are divided over GM. Many large and small businesses support Australia's GM-free status. There are also many outstanding issues that need to be resolved before any commercial release is permitted.

NSW May Be Safe From GMO til 2011 !! Other States at Risk

Today Gerard Martin, the State Member of Parliament from Bathurst in the Western Advocate Friday 30^th November 2007 page 8 wrote the following:

WITH the federal election now run and won I am looking forward to working with my former State Parliamentary colleague Bob Debus on a variety of issues that will be of benefit to the Bathurst electorate.

Roads and aged care will be priorities. For the first time since Federation we have Labor governments in all states, territories and at a federal level and, despite, the pessimistic warning of the Federal Coalition spokesperson, I believe it will be a very positive outcome.

A VERY contentious area of public policy at the moment is gene technology or genetic modification of crops.

Australian states have had a moratorium on the growing of GM crops apart from some trials of GM canola.

The Commonwealth Gene Technology Act, which expires in March next year, has been the catalyst for all states reviewing their position.

Queensland and Victoria are going to take a market-driven approach and completely abandon their moratorium. In NSW we are going to extend the current moratorium until July 2011.

Currently to grow a genetically modified crop the farmer first has to apply to the Federal Government through the Office of The Gene Technology Regulator.

The regulator deals with human health and environmental issues.

If the Federal Government accepts the proposal it progresses to an expert committee setup by the NSW Government who will make a recommendation to the Minister for Primary Industry.

One of the major issues is the ability to segregate GM and non-GM food crops.

National consistency is important to enable an efficient supply chain while also giving our farmers the opportunity to compete on world markets. The current situation doesn't allow this.

I have severe reservations about allowing the growing of GM crops under this arrangement.

GM crops allow a reduction in the use of pesticides and generally have improved crop yields, but until we have guarantees on food safety I think that we have to be very, very cautious.

How GM Food Reactivates in the Body

(NewsTarget) According to a recent article from the Institute for Responsible Technology, certain varieties of herbicides used on genetically modified (GM) crops -- though inactive inside the plants they protect -- can be re-activated after consumption and cause toxic reactions.

Herbicide tolerance (HT) is a common trait in roughly 71 percent of all GM crops, which are mostly comprised of corn, soy, cotton and canola. HT crops tend to make a lot of money for biotech companies, since farmers who buy HT seeds are required to purchase that company's brand of herbicide as well.

The herbicide used in many GE crops is derived from a natural antibiotic found in soil, which produces specialized enzymes that transform from an antibiotic to a non-toxic form called NAG (N-acetyl-L-glufosinate). The enzymes are then inserted into the DNA of GM crops, so that when the crop is sprayed with herbicides, the plant transforms the herbicide into non-toxic NAG -- essentially, the plant is able to protect itself from the toxic chemicals that kill the weeds surrounding it.

However, recent animal studies have shown that after GM crops -- which have accumulated high levels of NAG after several herbicide sprays -- are consumed, stomach bacteria can re-transform NAG back into the toxic herbicide. Two rat studies found a 10 percent and a 1 percent rate of NAG conversion after consumption of HT crops.

According to a January 2006 report by the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of the Inspector General, certain pesticides easily enter the brains of young children and fetuses, where they then destroy cells. Studies of mice embryos exposed to glufosinate resulted in reduced numbers of vital brain receptors, growth retardation, increased death rates and incomplete development of the forebrain.

Critics of GM crops urge the public to call on the EPA for more rigorous testing of genetically engineered crops, and for stricter labeling laws on GM products so consumers can more easily avoid them.

My letter to Sydney Morning Herald on GE Crops

Why does it seem that when something is obviously a failure in America and Europe, like genetically engineered food, Australia is still willing to give it a fair go? And the Labor Party knowing how unpopular this would be, waited until just after the federal election to inform the public of its decision to go ahead with such crops.

Smart people know that the seed companies are using us as human guinea pigs testing the long-term effects of this questionable food. Within the last year, Monsanto's own studies revealed that rats fed Roundup Ready canola had enlarged livers. So yippee! How many people want enlarged livers? Step right up and slather your bread with Roundup Ready Canola Spread.

A bigger issue is the real possibility that GE crops are weakening the bees in America and Europe, causing bee colony collapse disorder. No cause has yet been confirmed, but with the billion-dollar company, Monsanto, involved, it's possible that no cause hurting them has been allowed to be released to the public. I'm sure they have a huge public relations budget.

I think that before the seed companies promoting GE crops are allowed to get their way, they must first prove that there is no connection between bee colony collapse disorder and GE crops. Until that day, I hope that Australians will be wise enough to stave off the greediness of the seed companies at the expense of the health and well-being of all Australians..

Australia is on the brink of losing its lucrative GE-free status, with several of the state bans on GE food crops, due to expire early next year [and NSW and Victoria have declared the end to their moratoriums]. These bans are effectively against GE canola and protect all Australian consumers and farmers from risky GE contamination. Just like cane toads, once hazardous GE crops are introduced they can never be recalled.

How unsafe is GE canola?
The approved GE canola varieties include Monsanto's GT73 Roundup Ready canola which is banned for human consumption in Austria. The Public Health Association of Australia has also raised human health concerns about the canola, after Monsanto's own studies revealed increased liver weights in rats fed the canola.
The Governments of New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria have all recently conducted inquiries into the necessity of their bans. [and I add that the bans have been lifted in NSW & VIC unless we can turn this around]

If you don't want risky GE canola in your margarine, cooking oil, dips, sauces, and many more foods, take action now.

If you live in a canola growing state (NSW, SA, Tas, Vic and WA) send an email to your MP and ask them to ensure that the ban on commercial GE food crops is extended. A personal letter is most effective.

Farmers who grow genetically modified canola in Victoria and New South Wales next season could face increased storage and handling fees.

GrainCorp, the largest bulk handler on Australia's east coast, is estimating the additional costs involved in segregating GM canola oilseeds.

GrainCorp managing director Tom Keene says GM canola growers may have to pay extra.

"We already have different costs associated with different commodities now, depending on what's involved in the storage requirement and the transport and movement requirement, so we would expect that to be the same for canola and non GM canola products," he says.

"But we'll address the pricing issue when we come to next season."

I have been trying to find out what is the best action to take on this, and as of yet do not have specific details, but you can be creative as I wait to hear on this. I have been contacting the experts such as Louise Sales at Greenpeace (9261-4666) and Bob Phelps ( www.geneethics.org) 1300 133 868, but they are so busy this week because of the news that they don't have time to talk. You might also try a reporter, Daniel Lewis, at the Sydney Morning Herald, whose direct line is 9282-3345. I intend to call him today. He wrote yesterday's article in the Herald.

Somehow I don't think petitions are going to work around this, and they take so much time. What I think will work best is to have the politicians receive a lot of calls. Directly confronting them is probably best.

The international conglomerate that is behind genetically modified food has persuaded outgoing politicians and others in Victoria and New South Wales to end the moratorium on planting genetically modified Canola (Rape Seed) in this country. (See this link for the Sydney Morning Herald article)
The timing of the announcement is devious because many are still euphoric due to the national electoral changes over the weekend, and we are facing the holiday season when things slow down, and the new politicos have yet to take on their major portfolios and get down to work.
I have been on the phone calling everyone I know about this yesterday (Tuesday) because of the likely connection between bee colony collapse in America and genetically modified food grown in that country. The way the genetically modified food is engineered, it gives off deadly insecticides in its pollen, thus weakening and or killing anything that eats pollen!
If you have ever heard of the public relations industry, you need to be aware that multinational corporations like Monsanto would regularly use PR companies to disinform the public about the real threat their product poses for the public and the future of this planet. Thus no American official has made a direct connection yet, because I am sure the industry controls the dissemination of such information.
If the Howard government was still in power, I wouldn't be writing you about this because it would be all over. But the Rudd government promises to be better to the environment, so this is an important first test. I spoke with somebody working for a new federal MP yesterday, and that person said it is possible to turn this around. But you all need to call and write everyone you know, and get the mothers of this country mad about the poisoning that is about to happen.

This is something close to my heart. Just yesterday I was speaking with a Japanese professor of law from a Kobe university about saving the whales. She told me that most Japanese people don't eat whale meat, but there are still some communities that traditionally have eaten whale meat to supplement their diet. And with the disappearance of other major staples such as tuna from the seas, the Japanese are worried that they will be dictated to about all ocean fishing.
Since I was speaking with her in her language, I may have missed some of nuance of what she was saying, but I think I got it right.
In any case, I know the Japanese people respond well to foreign pressure, and somehow we can convince them over the long term. I think this website is a good place to start.

You haven't heard from me in some time because it took a few days to recover from the wonderful best-selling status on Amazon.com on November 6th & 7th, and also because I dived right into another adventure, which was a 3-day workshop with Dolores Cannon, the amazing American past-life regressionist and author of 14 books. She taught 35 Australians this past weekend how to do her style of past-life regression hypnotherapy. It was fantastic! I learned a great deal about how the subconscious can heal major ailments in less than an hour. I look forward to being able to do this work myself.

Borat, the fictional Kazakh reporter who caused a diplomatic stir with his movie adventures in the United States, is back -- with a guide book to "the glorious nation of Kazakhstan" and "minor nation of U.S. and A."

Borat Sagdiyev, a clueless and offensive journalist created by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, made television and movie audiences laugh and cringe but angered the government of Kazakhstan for portraying the former Soviet country as misogynistic, anti-Semitic and backward.

The character continued in the same vein in a question and answer interview with Reuters via e-mail as the book was released in the United States and Canada this week:

Q: Which country to do you prefer - Kazakhstan or the USA?

A: "I very much preferring Kazakhstan - it nicest place in the world! Please, you must look on my guidings book and then come visit. Bring your whole family and stay at Astana Funworld Resort - it have beautiful beaches, almost totally free of landmines and the sea is guarantee to have no jellyfish, shark, or any other marine life."

Today, which is the 6th of November in Australia, is still the 5th of November in America and has been full of surprises. I would say that angelic influence had something to do with today's turn of events, because if my computer hadn't crashed on Sunday morning, I wouldn't have had to compose the American final reminder e-mail in such a hurried state at the Lawson Library yesterday, forgetting to point to which day I wanted everyone to purchase my book.

So many Americans bought my book early today giving me a jolt when I saw the ranking at 21,000 this morning when I woke up. Last night the book was ranked at 924,000. So what a difference.

Now we are really going to hit the site with the big hitters. Japan will be buying 140 books in about one hour from now. So stay tuned.

The Big Day - November 6th

Well finally the big debut of my book Seraphim Blueprint: The Power of Angel Healing is happening in the next 36 hours. Is it really going to be possible to get to the top of Amazon.com? Well, the challenge is staring me in the face.

Meanwhile this weeks challenges have been very technical. My printer of 4 years died a few days ago, and my computer operating system caught a virus and is in sick bay as I write this. Thank goodness I kept my old trusty laptop (I first wrote lapdog!) for just such an occasion.

One nice thing about this Amazon.com campaign is that my students in Japan who can't even read English have pledged to buy 100 books! Really amazing!
